Chapter 9 - Page 1 of 3

The morning sun found Stud and Ivory wrapped around each other like stripes on a candy cane. If this was a dream, Ivory was positive that she didn't want to wake up. She had just broken every code of ethics in the book by sleeping with a potential suspect, but at this point she didn't care. As she listened to Stud's gentle breathing her head resting on his bare, shoulder, the words to the old Barbara Mandrell song "If Loving You Is Wrong Then I Don't Want To Be Right," played over and over in her head.

"Good morning," whispered Stud, rolling over and propping himself up on his elbow.

"Good morning, replied Ivory with a smile. Did I wake you"?

"Naw, answered Stud as he gently ran his fingers through her hair.

I was just listening to the gentle beating of your heart."

"Am I really attracted to her or did I just want sex last night"? he wondered to himself as he looked into her eyes.

But as he ran his body down the front of her body, pausing to gently caress her breasts, the passion he had felt last night welled up inside of him again.

"It wasn't the sex, he decided as he gave her a passion filled kiss. He really was attracted to her."

"Do you know what"? asked Stud, lying his head on her chest.

"What's that"? asked Ivory, looking down into his sapphire blue eyes that sparkled in in the morning sun that flooded the room uninvited through the open window.

"This is my favorite way to wake up," he replied softly.

"Mine too," replied Ivory as she reached down and began to caress him between the legs, much to his delight.

Without warning, Ivory flung back the blankets and scrambled from the bed.

"Go take a shower, ordered Ivory. I am going to make us some breakfast."

Grabbing one of his shirts from a nearby chair, Ivory slipped it over her shapely body and strolled into the kitchen.

She was dismayed when she opened the refrigerator door and found only the green bologna, moldy bread and empty milk carton. The cabinets were even more barren. The only thing she found in them was a box of macaroni and cheese, a bottle of oregano, and a roach motel.

Shaking her head, Ivory ambled back onto the bathroom where Stud had just stepped out of the shower.

"I wanted to make you breakfast, complained Ivory, slipping her arms around his wet body. But you don't have any food."

"I know, admitted Stud, removing the shirt she was wearing and tossing it on the bathroom floor. I hate grocery shopping and doing laundry.

Are you disappointed"?

"A little," she replied.
